New year, new construction training solutions

The local construction sector is starting to see shoots of growth and CITB NI can help with your training needs.

Its Mobile Training Unit provides a convenient way of delivering training on employers premises or sites causing minimum disruption to production. The unique scaffolding training facility, the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland, is approved to deliver the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) enabling participants to achieve an industry recognised scaffolders card.

CITB NI has also introduced the Basic Access Systems Erector (BASE) scaffolding training courses for individuals that are not approved scaffolders and it delivers the Undergraduate Development Programme for construction and the built environment undergraduate students during their placement year.

Thebrand new virtual environment training facility VET360 is an innovative new tool that provides a unique and memorable immersive experience which gives the user instant access to construction sites in a workplace environment and CITB NI is also launching its ‘Leader in Construction’ Programme which is tailored to the construction sector and will assist the industry to meet current and future challenges. It will develop the strategic and leadership behaviours required at a senior level for both small or family run businesses and large multi-nationals and will help build leadership capability within participating companies and individuals.

The CITB NI website is also designed to help you get the most from your training and incorporates a training directory search engine that will allow you to locate training courses already approved for CITB NI grant support. You can also download a Training Needs Analysis template which can help companies track training and skill levels.
