Fire Safety Conference is set for Armagh

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Advancing the Fire Safety Message’ and once again it will include speakers drawn from various disciplines in the field of fire safety. This will include fire safety professionals, fire brigade, product manufacturers and suppliers, trade bodies, research establishments and fire investigators.

In the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, there is currently a clear focus on fire safety in high rise buildings. The conference will focus on current issues across a range of building types and occupancy profiles. The presentations will include a number of case studies, ensuring the event will be interactive, and will involve audience participation and opportunities for questions. Overall, it equates to 10 hours CPD. This year’s topics include:

– External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems
– Sprinkler Reliability & Effectiveness
– Assessing & Communicating Fire
– Safety in Tower Blocks – A Landlord’s Perspective
– Importance of Fire Safety Information
– Sustainability, Insulation and Fire – are they compatible?
– The Future of Fire Safety in High Rise Residential Buildings
– The Role of DNA in Fire Investigation –Q&A
– Safe Evacuation for All – Fact or Fantasy?
– High Rise Buildings & Fighting Fires – The Challenges

– Effective Fire Compartmentation Prevents Fire Spread – How is this achieved & who is responsible?

Sean McConville, Chairman of the BCNI Fire Safety Panel, said, “We work hard to ensure the conference focuses on the latest industry topics. Each year, we strive to raise awareness of fire safety issues and standards, with the need for all to consider fire safety in everyday scenarios they may face.

“Just as importantly, the aim of the conference is to create debate that will help shape our industry and develop best practice.”
