Say hello to the brand new MacBlair Boucher

The first of the Macnaughton Blair branches to be rebranded as MacBlair, the Boucher branch is bigger and better than before.

Incorporating ‘Your Local Builders’ Merchant’ alongside MacBlair Civils, MacBlair Plumbing, MacBlair Hire, and the new Watershed Bathrooms and Tiles showroom, MacBlair Boucher now offers a wider choice and availability of products.

New additions to the shop and trade counter include a Door and Floor display and a power tools demonstration area along with extensive paint and civils ranges. Customers can also benefit from free tea and coffee along with free wifi which will be available in all branches.

MacBlair Hire offers an extended range of small plant and tool equipment while the landscaping area includes a new hard landscaping display alongside a wider choice of fencing and decking. The warehouse offers an extended range of insulation, roofing and plumbing products as well as panel saw and cross cut saw facilities.

Alongside extended opening hours (open from 7am), MacBlair Boucher also boasts a new layout, both internally and externally. The yard has a new improved layout that includes jumbo parking spaces for larger vehicles while, in store, customers can enjoy a new, brighter, faster and easy to use facility.

Scott McDonald, Branch Manager at MacBlair Boucher, joined the company last August and has endured a baptism of fire. However, he feels the feedback from customers has proved the changes have been worthwhile.

“Firstly, we’d like to thank our customers for their patience throughout this process,” he explained. “We were working from two temporary buildings from the start of this year and had a temporary shop area in our warehouse, which meant that we were still able to offer a service.

“Our existing building was stripped back to the barebones and reworked so it very much feels like we have a brand new building. This process has allowed us to extend an already impressive product range and adding areas such as the power tools demonstration zone and the floors and doors display have already made a positive impact.

“Even the little services like free tea and coffee have been welcomed by our customers who are very much enjoying the new-look branch.”

While the store has been designed to be more welcoming to both trade and DIY customers, it has also provided more dedicated space to display the company’s impressive product range.

“Even some of our regular customers have said that they didn’t know that we offered a certain product range until they saw it displayed in store,” explained Scott. “We have a lot more scope to show off just how wide-ranging our product range is.”

But while the aesthetic aspect is important, this has been enhanced by staff training.

Scott added, “We feel that product knowledge is just as important as having a strong product range. We are working all the time to improve our knowledge right across our range and, in recent weeks, we have had manufacturers in store to train us specifically on their products.

“From the new look store and strengthened product range to staff training, our focus remains on improving our customer’s experience.”
