On the News front
five local projects have been honoured in the 2008 Civic Trust Awards.
The Arches Centre in Belfast and the Spire of Hope, also in Belfast,
both received commendations while the Landmark East Community Business
Centre, The Merchant Hotel and YouthAction Northern Ireland, all in
Belfast, received mentions.
We carry details
of the acquisition of Aable Roller Shutters, Scotland’s largest
roller shutter door company by local company, Fortress Doors.
We have the results
of the recent construction focused Inspection Campaign by HSENI and
staying with Health & Safety matters we preview the content of this
year’s Health & Safety Spring Conference which will be held
at the Glenavon Hotel in Cookstown on May 21st.
On the show front
we have an update on the very popular Self Build exhibition staged recently
at the King’s Hall in Belfast.
We visit Ballygowan
for the opening of Ballygowan Kitchens new showroom and Lisnaskea in
Co. Fermanagh for the open day held at the newly opened premises of
AHS Hire Specialists.
In a special interview
with Trevor Leckey, managing director of Stoneyford Concrete,
we update on the support being given to the Mitre Trust and the Spinal
Injury Unit at Musgrave Hospital. A target of £150,000 has been
set for the purchase of new equipment for the Rehabilitation Unit at
the Hospital and as a result of the first Trevor Leckey Charity Dinner
and other initiatives the figure raised to date stands at more than
£90,000!
