Giving Vent to sustainable solutions in Education

Commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving energy usage is being taken to heart at the Department of Education & Science and City of Limerick VEC with the implementation of sustainable strategies in a new build, St Nessans Community College, Limerick City. Helping the Department achieve its target of reduced energy consumption in schools is Richmond Building Products’ Passivent natural ventilation. Some 20 Passivent Aircool high level ventilation units have been fitted along the façade to ventilate the new School. Richmond Building Products worked closely with Reddy O’Roirdan Staehli Architects to develop a scheme where the Aircool ventilators help provide a regulated flow of fresh air through the building without draughts.
