Portview Fit-Out’s 40th anniversary

The company has remained true to its roots and is still based in its Belfast home, but in 2016 will look very different from the original ‘one man and his van’ general building firm that hit the road in the winter of 1975.

Portview today is an international award-winning enterprise whose success is reflected in consecutive record years for growth since 2010 and turnover now standing at £40m after 40 years.  The company has won accolades for more than its work for clients, securing the 2015 Deloitte Gold Award in the Best Managed Company category, and in 2014 gained recognition for its attention to both its own people and its supply chain, winning the Training Award in the Construction Excellence Awards, Quality Performance category, and Managing Director Simon Campbell’s Highly Commended award in the annual Institute of Directors Best New Director Awards.  The company has also held Investors in People accreditation for a number of years.

The 80-strong Portview team is very much part of its community, with staff involved in a variety of charitable ventures and activities.  Many of their projects have called upon their technical skills, transforming homes and play areas to benefit disabled children, while others have seen colleagues get wet and dirty in the name of fund-raising for causes across Northern Ireland and beyond.

Undertaking projects of all sizes, including major refurbishment and roll-out contracts, Portview works with the best in the business, having strong collaborative relationships with great design and project management teams at home and abroad.  As a result, Portview’s client portfolio today includes some of the world’s top brands.

Portview Managing Director, Simon Campbell.

Portview Managing Director, Simon Campbell, said: “We are delighted to have reached 40 years in business and fully intend to build on our success throughout 2016 and the years ahead.  We have some fun planned for our anniversary year, including a celebratory event in London in April.  In the meantime, we will be focused on what we do best, transforming interiors for the biggest names in retail and beyond.”

Commenting on current market conditions, Simon Campbell continued: “We are finding that the level of opportunity has stabilised and that competition remains high.  Clients are spending but continually seeking to improve on value for money without compromising the quality of their project.  Supply chain and workforce remain in demand and looking after both is the easiest way to ensure capability and capacity are available.  Record turnover in tough conditions is very pleasing and we are looking forward to some interesting projects in 2016.”
