Located just outside Kilbride Village in Co Meath, RILCO’s HQ is a hive of activity on a sunny afternoon in June. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is top of the agenda as staff members answer telephone queries and ensure deliveries are delivered on time.
Robert Sunderland, the Managing Director of RILCO, became the Irish sole agent for SVK fibre cement products back in 2009. In 2012 he decided to establish alongside his current SVK agency the company RILCO Roofing and Cladding to offer the market a far more comprehensive range of both pitched and flat roofing materials from his strong links with European producers. While SVK products are, for the most part, sold through builders’ merchants, RILCO products are supplied directly to steel erectors, roofing contractors, building contractors and some specialist cladding contractors. Although a relatively young company, RILCO has made great strides over the past couple of years to become one of the key players in the roofing and cladding sector, supplying into the industrial commercial, agricultural and residential markets in Ireland, Northern Ireland and recently into the UK.
“We expanded into the UK at the start of 2017 to take advantage of the bigger market over there. Rodney Hogg , RILCO Sales Director, like the rest of the RILCO team, has a huge amount of experience and knowledge selling into the roofing and cladding sector in the UK.”

Daire Fegan, Sales Director Ireland
Sales Director Daire Fegan is responsible for overall sales, along with developing key accounts and overseeing the sales team. Daire exudes confidence and feels there is massive potential to grow the business over the coming 3 years.
“At the moment, we’re up 27% on sales on last year. That growth has primarily come from the agricultural sector. Insulated panels have grown this year and all products in general are performing well, including SVK fibre cement corrugated sheeting.”
Frank Murphy, Sales Executive – Agricultural
Frank Murphy specialises in the agricultural side of the business and has spent over 28 years in the agricultural sector offering turnkey solutions. Farm buildings are not new to Frank and he has brought many years of experience to RILCO which will allow the company to grow the business further.
“RILCO offer the complete roofing and cladding package ranging from the outer structure right down to the associated internal fixtures and fittings including offering standard and fire certified materials.”
Christos Michaelides, Sales Manager Northern Ireland – All Products
With vast experience when it comes to facades and technologies, Christos has worked across a variety of large schemes in Ireland.
“I would also have a very good understanding of architectural detailing so I’m available to clients on that end as well.”
Christos’ aim at RILCO is to grow the NI market year on year by offering a wide range of materials to all the sectors.
Noel Clohessy, SVK Sales Manager Ireland
Noel works mainly on residential and one-off house projects, focusing on the SVK brand through the builders’ merchants network.
“We supply to all the larger merchants, such as Grafton, Brooks, United Hardware and a lot of Independently owned merchants throughout the country.”
Although the residential sector isn’t a buoyant market, renovations are boosting the roofing and facades sector. A year ago, RILCO launched the Roofer’s Bucket, which contains everything a roofer needs to do 1000 slates.
“We’re the first company to go with the complete branding on the bucket and it’s proving extremely popular.”
