Located at the foothills of the Sperrins, Charis is committed to supporting those living with, and families bereaved by, cancer.
Thornton has 10 Charis branded company vans, to show support and help raise awareness for the charity, and in a new charity initiative, it will donate 1p for every mile driven in the Charis-branded vans throughout 2016.
Director, Stephen Thornton, said, “As a local family-owned employer we are dedicated to giving back to the local community and we want to encourage support for Charis because of their overwhelming commitment to helping those effected by cancer.”
Fellow Director, Jenny Neeson, added, “This initiative has given us the opportunity to make a difference to a very important cause. So many people are affected by cancer, and we know how important it is to have support in place for families.”
Director of Charis Cancer Care, Imelda McGucken is delighted with the continued support the charity has received from Thornton. “The support we’ve had from Thornton over the past two years has helped us make a difference to the lives of people who are going through a difficult time,” she said. “We are a small, local charity and depend solely on public financial support to allow us to give the necessary support for those affected by cancer.
