Winners of the Master Builder Awards 2017 unveiled

Lifetime Achievement winner, Eric Lyttle, Eric Lyttle Contracts, is congratulated by FMB National President, Gary Lewis.

For more than 20 years, the Master Builder Awards have celebrated the outstanding work of the often under-appreciated SME building firms across the UK, and this year again produced a high calibre of entries for the Northern Ireland regional award.

All those successful in Northern Ireland will now go up against other regional winners from around the UK, with a chance to claim a coveted national crown as well as a brand-new Vauxhall Light Commercial Vehicle worth up to £20,000. The clients will also receive a cheque for £1,000 for their efforts.

The national winner will be celebrated at a ceremony held at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London in September and awarded their accolade by TV presenter and building enthusiast, Nick Knowles.

FMB NI Director, Gavin McGuire, said the standards for this year’s awards were some of the highest.

“We are delighted to see so many FMB members enter the competition, and the judging panel was impressed by the quality of this year’s entries,” he said. “It goes a long way to showcasing just how important SME builders are in Northern Ireland and the exceptional quality they deliver on a regular basis.

“The Master Builder Awards give the FMB the opportunity to celebrate a job well done and for clients to say thank you to their builders. For the building industry, it is an opportunity to celebrate all that is good about small local builders and their importance to the UK economy.

“Time and time again we have been impressed with just how far these builders will go to ensure their client is happy. It is this dedication that we want to celebrate. We can now look forward to seeing our winners go forward to the UK finals and we wish them the very best of luck.”

Gavin added, “I’d also like to thank this year’s sponsors for again supporting the event. This is a vital part of this competition, and this awards night proved a great way to bring our industry together.”
