A strong team builds success for Gyproc and Isover

Isover has been providing high performance, fire safe, thermal and acoustic mineral wool insulation to the Irish market since 1974 while Gyproc is the market leader in plaster, plasterboard and drylining systems and has been manufacturing in Ireland since 1936. Both are part of the Saint-Gobain group of companies.

In Ireland, the combined Gyproc and Isover team is led by Regional Sales Manager, Martin McKenna, and has been developed to ensure the requirements of a wide range of customers are met.

Also part of the team are Sean Walls, Area Sales Manager in Northern Ireland (covering Derry, Fermanagh, Armagh, Tyrone and Donegal); Dermot McDaid, Northern Ireland Technical Sales Manager (covering Antrim & Down); Mark McCormick, Specification Manager (covering Northern Ireland and Donegal); and Ollie McBreen, Product Advisor and Demonstrator (covering Northern Ireland and Donegal).

Martin explained, “We have a diverse customer base that ranges from architects and specifiers through to the contractors working on site and each one deserves to receive our full attention.

“Just like any good team, we play to our strengths and the range of experience and skills we have means we are able to meet the very different demands of our customers. Whether it is a formal presentation to architects, providing a full design specification to a main contractor or providing product training to installers on site, we are able to offer these services directly to customers.

“No other company in our sector is able to offer this level of support and we are proud of that fact.”

In addition to the tailored service provided by the Gyrpoc and Isover team, customers also benefit from the leading products from both companies that are at the forefront of their sectors. From Isover, this includes the Vario airtightness system and Isover Metac mineral wool. Vario is a range of membranes and tapes designed to protect against moisture associated issues and provide superior performance.

The high performance airtightness membrane can be easily installed internally to roofs, walls and floors in timber frame constructions and is designed to manage moisture within frame and lining systems whilst maintaining or enhancing airtightness.

Metac is a high quality thermal insulation roll designed for a wide range of applications where space is at a premium. Easy to install, it friction fits between timber studs, joists and rafters with no need for additional fixings. The insulation is made from recycled glass and is A1 fire rated.

Some of the latest additions to Gyproc’s range include Hard Coat and Habito. A gypsum undercoat plaster, Gyproc Hard Coat is an easier-to-use alternative to sand and cement and is up to 30% faster to apply. It can be used on most masonry backgrounds with a final coat of Gyproc Finish Plaster for a smooth, inert, high quality surface to internal walls offering excellent impact resistance, airtightness, quick surface drying and a high resistance to efflorescence.

Gyproc Habito is a new revolutionary plasterboard that provides enhanced acoustic performance, impact resistance and direct fixing capabilities. As the latest addition to the Gyproc performance board range, it has been designed for use in the both the commercial and residential sector to provide enhanced sound insulation, impact resistance and for the first time, fixing capability.
