The Builders’ Merchants Federation (BMF) represents and protects the interests of builders’ merchants, plumbing, heating, roofing, decorative and timber merchants and their suppliers and hosts these awards to recognise the high levels of excellence within the industry.
Haldane Fisher was up against stiff competition, with this year’s finalists including Howarth Timber, TG Builders Merchants, LBS and Chandlers Builders Supplies.
In winning the award, Haldane Fisher was commended for the company’s commitment to training as a core element of its business and the support of the BMF, demonstrated by using the BMF for the majority of its training solutions.

Haldane Fisher has taken a blended approach to the company’s staff training, with classroom and online learning playing a much greater part in everyone’s development.
The company launched its own bespoke online learning academy this year, which has proved a great success with staff. As part of this comprehensive training and development programme, Haldane Fisher is planning to further develop the online learning academy in 2018, along with BMF Diploma and Post Graduate courses.
