JP Corry has officially reopened its newly rebuilt Ballymena (Robert Guy) branch following a devastating fire that closed the site in June 2019. Putting a temporary structure in place in order to continue serving the local community, the branch has been completely rebuilt.

JP Corry was completely committed to rebuilding and bringing the branch back to the local community with a new modern style and finish. The rebuild has enabled the company to strengthen its offering in the Mid/North Antrim area and create new jobs, while offering a number of exciting improvements, including a larger builders yard and warehousing area with an onsite mill, expanded product range and a bright and welcoming shop layout.CONSTRUCTION
On June 13, 2019, a fire ripped through the main buildings of the Robert Guy branch located in Glarryford, Ballymena. What buildings remained when the fire was extinguished had to be demolished in the interests of health and safety. The fire delivered a huge blow to the business at the time but in particular to the staff at Robert Guy and the local community.

The decision was made to rebuild the branch in order to service the local community and its loyal customer base, which has been long established. Demonstrating great determination, vigour and agility, the branch was re-open within six weeks, albeit with a temporary structure in place consisting of a converted marquee and portacabins whilst construction began to build new, purpose built state-of-the-art facilities.

Despite facing some unprecedented challenges throughout the course of the build, including manoeuvring through the effects of Covid-19, construction on the new premises was completed in November 2020.

The new site includes a shop, offices, warehouse and sawmill in one segregated building, which has been insulated and furnished with energy efficient lighting throughout. An extended yard space with additional parking facilities now allows more space for customers and suppliers.

Working alongside local contractor, Martin & Hamilton, the new facilities offer the team an exciting new space to work from and allowed for an expanded product offering to better service the requirements of existing customers while providing a welcoming atmosphere for new customers.

IMPROVEMENTS
Improvements to the branch include a brand new Landscaping Centre, providing inspiration to local customers for their outdoor space. The inspiring display was created to reflect the individual needs of home gardeners, DIY enthusiasts and professional landscapers in the area.

Within the shop, a new retail friendly layout has been established, with a larger product range which includes a purpose built doors showroom, which allows customers to view samples of the various doors, handles, hinges and architrave that is available.

The new development of the Robert Guy branch coincides with the launch of JP Corry’s latest offering of Click and Collect which is now available through the JP Corry website. This newest investment has allowed the business to expand its online offering and enable customers to browse over 5,000 products online, check pricing and confirm stock availability before arranging.
