It is expected that City Quays 2 will help address the current lack of Grade ‘A’ office space in Belfast and support almost 600 construction industry jobs.
The £18 million project, due to be completed in early 2017, will, like its sister building City Quays 1, be built to BREEAM Excellent standard, offering tenants the benefit of significantly reduced energy costs. The building will also accommodate waterfront retail space on the ground floor.
Dr. David Dobbin, Belfast Harbour’s Chairman, said: “Earlier this year we completed City Quays 1, of which 85% is currently or soon to be occupied. This demonstrates that there is a high demand for office space of this quality and specification within Belfast.
“Belfast Harbour is delighted to appoint a local contractor to build what we expect to be an impressive addition to the waterfront, and we are pleased with how quickly the development is progressing overall.
“We have already had interest from prospective tenants in knowledge-based sectors and look forward to adding more world-class organisations to the 700 already located in the Harbour Estate.”

Located on a city-centre waterfront site near Belfast Harbour’s Office, City Quays 2 was designed by award-winning architect Grimshaw, London.
Other projects within Belfast Harbour’s City Quays development include a 4*hotel and 900-space multistorey car park, both of which are expected to complete in 2017.
