At MacBlair Coleraine, the emphasis is firmly on providing customers with the best products, prices and level of service – and this level of commitment has led to a major branch refurbishment.
Floor space has been increased by a whopping 40% to accommodate a huge extension of product ranges for customers. It includes a new look display showcasing an expansive range of flooring and doors, along with general and architectural ironmongery and a new dedicated area housing a range of roofing products, facing bricks, external cladding, render, construction and insulation products.
There’s now space to offer customers a paint-mixing service, enhancing their range of leading brand paints, and they’ve also extended their range of power tools and accessories – with premier brands such as Dewalt and Bosch. The new-look store compliments MacBlair’s adjoining Watershed Bathroom Showroom and Plumbing and Heating business – offering a complete building solution in one location.
Branch manager, Andy McCarron, says, “Our colleagues found it frustrating before because they couldn’t show customers the full range of products available. Looking at items in a catalogue just isn’t the same. When a customer is making the decision to purchase something, they need to be able to see and feel it in the flesh, which now they can.”
The work was completed just before the COVID 19 lockdown came into effect, which means there is plenty of space to accommodate social distancing. “We can allow twelve customers in at a time which wouldn’t have been feasible prior to the refurbishment,” says Andy. Putting customer and staff safety first during these unprecedented times, MacBlair has also installed screens at the counter, hand sanitisers, customer traffic flow (one way in and one way out) distance markings on the floor and electronic entry control.
Customer satisfaction is at the heart of the Coleraine branch and is something they all take seriously. “We have a great team of experts here in terms of industry and product knowledge,” says Andy. “It’s an old cliché that ‘people buy from people’, but it’s a true one. Customers have built up a rapport and confidence with our colleagues and that’s why we’re always the first point of call. We also carry a huge product range.
