Both awards were in conjunction with Design Time architects and in addition to recognising the design it recognised McCue’s bespoke joinery skills and fit out. The store, Lush’s biggest in the world at 9,500 sq ft, showcases all that is innovative and inspiring about the company.

It was an outstanding evening where some of the most esteemed companies in the UK were present representing many fantastic projects.

It was a real privilege to support them throughout this project and to see them accept these awards too, in front of their peers and an array of retailers.”
The work undertaken by McCue was in line with Lush’s company values in that SKA sustainability guidelines were strictly adhered to throughout. All the wood used in the construction was FSC certified. Reclaimed wood and vintage buys were used in much of the furniture and any that was not reclaimed was FSC certified. As well as being a must see retail store, this venue also features a Lush Spa complete with 4 treatment rooms.
The Non Food Design of the Year judges commented on the night that “Taking an established retail format and completely reinventing it, making it a destination for loyal and new shoppers is what the winner of this category has managed to do. ‘Amazing’ and ‘it really does look entirely different’ were just two of the reactions from the judges.”
The ISG UK Retail Interior of the Year winner was unanimously felt by the judges to “have created the best store to welcome shoppers over the last twelve months. This has been a tough field to emerge at the top of.”
