We continually strive for excellence and that is one thing that won’t change at MacBlair Boucher. Those are the words of new Branch Manager, Mark Thompson who is determined that he and his team will continue to carry the baton as the group’s flagship branch.
Mark took over his role as Branch Manager at MacBlair Boucher on May 1 but he brings with him a wealth of experience having worked for the group for almost 10 years. “I began in the yard then moved to the counter and on to Sales before becoming a Sales Rep, Sales Manager and now Branch Manager,” said Mark.
“Having this experience, which has let me see every aspect of the business, is a big help. I can see all sides when I need to make decisions and this will benefit both the branch and myself. “We want to be continually improving how we operate but that has always been the approach at MacBlair’s. There is a strong team at Boucher with a good mix of youth and experience and we are determined to carry the baton for the group as the flagship branch.”
Mark’s move to Branch Manager created an opening for a Sales Manager and again MacBlair’s were able to fill the position internally with someone who brings great experience to the position. “Alison Kelly has taken over as Sales Manager and again she has great experience having worked in the sales office for the past eight years,” said Mark.
“She will be looking after the sales teams and sales reps and will be keeping me updated on progress.”
MacBlair Boucher continues to perform well despite being positioned within a very competitive market. Mark believes it is a combination of a newly refurbished site and the fact they have four elements of the building industry all on the one site that sets them apart from the competition.
“We have strong teams with great knowledge across the four elements – MacBlair Plumbing, MacBlair Civils, Watershed Bathroom & Tiles and MacBlair Building Merchants,” said Mark.
“On top of that with the recent refurbishment of the site I honestly believe we have the best site in the country. But we know there is always room for improvement and we continually strive to be better for our customers.”
Other elements which Mark believes sets MacBlair Boucher apart from the competition include the product range the business can offer.
“We have a wide range of products available including a number of specialist ranges,” said Mark. “We have a sizeable yard and can carry all the stock we need, our showroom has a dedicated warehouse so we really are a one-stop-shop option for our customers.”
The company is also strong logistically with a fleet of vehicles well positioned to get stock to customers in a timely manner.
